To wade in water is like to live in love.
When one wades in water, it is impossible not to get wet; same as one cannot live in love, without dying to oneself.
Water is needed for life to flourish, as it is necessary to have love for there to be life.
Wade and not plunge, because there is a playful quality, a sense of cheer, in the former. It is good to keep that positive disposition, when one decides to get wet (immerses in loving).
Oftentimes, children are the ones who wade. To live in love, it is better to also maintain child-like attributes: humility, openness, generosity, honesty, even that sense of playful adventure!
In doing things, kids usually require adult supervision, as it is well to rest in the arms of Abba at all times (when we strive to live a life in love).
As water promises relief for a basic physical need, love definitely soothes the basic need of the soul.
This is an invitation to explore the possibilities of living in love, let us wade in water!
